Be conservative!!
If you’ve slept all your life on a spring mattress, it’s no time for waterbeds, japanese futons or some other original ideas. Your body has accustomed itself to a certain type of feel and changing from springs to something else is certainly brave but not necessarily right! This doesn’t mean you can have good fillings in there!
 
Supersize!!
If you’re 2, aim for king or super king sizes. A child as a 3’ wide bed, 2 adults typically share a double bed (only 4’6 wide): that’s 25% less space for each person than a child!!!! It doesn’t mean you can’t sleep close!
 
Not too firm, not too soft!!
Forget about firm beds being good for your back. Firmness must be chosen according to your Height/weight ratio. Typically, 80% of adults should be on a regular mattress (also called medium firm). Heavier than average for your height, go towards firm; lighter, go for soft! (We’re not talking about fashion models/athletes average, normal people :-)
 
Take extra comfort to sleep better!!
Lots of better quality fillings will avoid pressure points and enhance blood flow. As a result, your body will have a much better rest at night and you will wake up fresh as a daisy.
 
Roll on or off but on your own!!
We turn around on average 40 times a night in bed! So, if you’re two, that’s 80 opportunities for micro-awakenings of your body (you don’t properly wake up), and that’s the guarantee of a restless sleep. So be careful: choose a mattress with a better roll on/off!
