QUILTS
Here are the criteria
to take into account when choosing your quilt::
- The tog
The warmth and weight of your duvet will then depend on the tog rating
(the duvet’s ability to trap warm air). Use this tog scale to
make your choice :
• 3 – 4.5 Tog – lightweight summer duvet
• 9.0 – 10.5 Tog – spring / autumn duvet
• 12.0 – 15.0 Tog – heavy weight winter duvet
Our “four seasons” duvet offers excellent flexibility.
A combination of two duvets, a 4.5 tog summer duvet and a 9.0 tog
spring / autumn duvet, when combined it offers a 13.5 tog winter duvet.
When choosing a full size duvet for a child, take into consideration
that a child is smaller than an adult, which means that their duvet
traps more air and increases the level of warmth. It’s recommended
that a full size child duvet be no more than 10.5 tog.
- Fillings
First, you need to understand that a quilt is designed to trap air
when it’s cold, and to let it circulate when it’s warm.
This is called thermal regulation (most people think quilts are made
to create warmth).
Whether it’s synthetic or natural, the more you invest, the
better you get. So you won’t just be paying for warmer, but
more so for more comfortable all-year-long quilt.
Your basic choice is between natural and synthetic filling :
• Natural fillings: You never hear geese and ducks complain
about the temperature, do you? That’s because they have the
best natural thermal regulation through their down. Natural fillings
are made of feathers and down, that give a soft and fluffy effect
to the pillows and duvets. The more down in your product, the better
the thermal regulation and the life time. Here are the different kinds
available to you :
Siberian white goose down : 90% down, simply the best quality. Comes
with a life-time guarantee.
White goose down 80% down.
Goose feather and down.
Duck feather and down.
• Synthetic fillings : Synthetic duvets and pillows are recommended
for people who suffer from allergies. They are also good value for
money. Online, we offer two varieties :
Microfibre (the best synthetic filling)
Hollowfibre

PILLOWS
Pillows supports
your neck when you sleep, that is why you must choose it with care
and change it regularly (every 3 years). The pillow will adapt to
your requirements according to your sleeping position. For example,
if you sleep on the side, we recommend a firm pillow. If you sleep
on your back, choose a medium firm pillow. Finally, if you sleep
on your front, choose a soft pillow.
-
CLASSIC PILLOWS
Synthetic:
Completely non-allergenic, they have a soft feel and they provide
outstanding value for money. However, it doesn't last as long as
a true natural pillow.
Natural (feather and down):
Natural pillow have the best thermal regulation: they are warm in
the winter, fresh in the summer. Their support lasts longer. The
comfort is snuggy, but they can still maintain your neck.
- ERGONOMIC PILLOWS
Ergonomic pillows can be made out
of:
- Latex, for a firmer support.
- Visco elastic memory foam that allows all your
muscles to relax. Indeed memory foam will shape exactly to the contours
of your neck, for maximum comfort. It is a revolutionary foam that
will help relieving your aches, your sleeping or snoring problems.
Ergonomic pillows can have several shapes:
- wave, to support your neck.
- square
- rectangle
